Functional Body Mobilisation
How to support a child's natural movement development — without pressure or constant correction.
Functional Body Mobilisation (FBM) is a workshop for parents who want to better understand their child's movement and learn how to support posture, development and physical activity in a safe, natural and non-invasive way.
FBM does not teach how to "fix posture" or correct a child. Instead, it shows how simple, conscious movement can support the developing body, allowing the child to build stability, coordination and freedom of movement on their own.
Why is a child's posture not about "standing up straight"?
A child's posture is not fixed. It changes with growth, development, movement and activity.
FBM is based on the understanding that:
- healthy posture emerges from movement quality,
- a child's body develops segment by segment,
- global coordination arises from the cooperation of the whole body, not a single part.
Instead of telling a child to "stand up straight", FBM shows how to create conditions in which the body naturally finds a more efficient and balanced organisation.
What will you learn during the workshop?
All content is presented through simple, safe movement activities and playful exercises that can be used at home.

How does FBM support a child's sports training?

FBM helps parents support athletic development, rather than accelerate it at the expense of health.

Yes. FBM can complement sports participation by supporting coordination and body awareness, helping parents understand training loads and encouraging balanced movement development. FBM does not replace sports training, coaching or physical education.
Does FBM prevent injuries?
FBM does not guarantee injury prevention. However, it may help parents recognise signs of overload, support recovery through appropriate movement and encourage balanced physical development. Any pain, injury or health concern should always be assessed by a qualified healthcare professional.
