Why work with the head and face?
The face and skull do not function in isolation - they are directly connected to global fascial tension patterns, posture and movement strategies, the autonomic nervous system, and protective stress responses. During the course you learn to read facial tension as a map of the whole body and to work in a way that supports deep reorganisation rather than only local relief.
What will you learn?
functional anatomy of the face and skull (fascial layers, bone/joint/soft tissue relationships, head-neck-chest-pelvis connections)
palpation and refined tissue perception (subtle touch, distinguishing structural/neurological/emotional tension, working with quality rather than force)
how stress and emotional load influence the face and skull, and the role of craniofacial work in autonomic regulation
integrating local work with global fascial lines (posture, breathing, distant tensions)
How does the training work?
The course is highly practical: live demonstrations, partner practice, step-by-step guidance, and a strong emphasis on touch quality, presence, and perception. This is not a set of techniques to repeat mechanically - the goal is to understand the process and to apply it in line with the HFR approach.
Who is it for?
For manual therapists and bodyworkers, movement and nervous system regulation professionals, HFR practitioners who want to deepen craniofacial work, and anyone looking for safe, conscious face-focused work that goes beyond the aesthetic aspect.
Outcomes
After the course you will understand the face as part of a global fascial system, work with craniofacial tensions in a deep yet gentle way, more accurately recognise links between stress/emotions and facial structure, and improve the precision and effectiveness of your practice.
